Max is a photographer, writer and curator. He is the Founder of Oval Press, the Founding Editor of Splash & Grab Magazine, the Photo Editor of Granta Magazine. Alongside his friend, and collaborator Cian Oba Smith, Max co-authored The Portrait Photographer’s Manual (Thames & Hudson, 2023). He is the author of two photo books: Whistling for Owls (2022) and Deadfall (2023). Max is a Senior Lecturer on the BA Photography course at the London College of Communication and a regular visiting lecturer on various photography programmes across the UK.
