Claire Wearn

Festival Director – Photo Fringe

Claire Wearn

Representing both Photo Fringe and Corridor, Claire is passionate about producing opportunities for visual art to occupy space and bring people together. With a particular interest in non-traditional exhibition-making, she continues to explore new ways to present artwork in unexpected places.

Cutting her teeth in community arts with The Public and Multistory, she was a creative producer across several long-form projects including Black Country Stories, Open For Business and Ex-offenders with David Goldblatt; field producer with Magnum Photos on Pictures from America: Rochester before relocating to Brighton to produce commissions and festivals including HOUSE Biennial; Brighton Photo Biennial, the Jerwood/Photoworks Awards. Most recently, she directed the eleventh edition of Photo Fringe, showcasing circa 100 exhibitions and new commissions with Arpita Shah and Becky Warnock. With Corridor, she co-directs socially engaged programmes, residencies and artist development opportunities.
