Festival Director – Photo Fringe

Claire is festival director at Photo Fringe and co-director of Corridor, based in Brighton.
Starting her career in Handsworth, Birmingham and Sandwell, Claire developed a passion for collective working non-traditional exhibition making. She cut her teeth in community arts with Multistory across several long form social documentary projects including Black Country Stories & Open For Business. She was field producer with Magnum Photos on Pictures from America: Rochester, during Kodak’s administration (2012) before relocating to Brighton to produce visual arts commissions and festivals including HOUSE Biennial featuring Yinka Shonibare, Gillian Wearing, Laura Ford, Felicity Hammond, Natasha Caruana and Nathan Coley (2015-17); Brighton Photo Biennial for Photoworks (2018), two editions of the Jerwood/Photoworks Awards (2017-19) and Real Utopias for Photo Fringe (2022). With Corridor she co-directs socially engaged programmes connecting artists and communities, creating commissions and artist development opportunities.
