Simon Bainbridge

Simon is a writer, editor and advisor specialising in contemporary photography.

He is a correspondent for The Art Newspaper, and has written for British Journal of Photography, L’Uomo Vogue, The Guardian, Taschen, LensCulture, The RPS Journal, and has authored a book, Magnum Artists, published by Laurence King in 2020.

He is particularly interested to see previously unpublished personal projects, and can advise photographers on all aspects of their practice and presentation.

He is the former Head of Content at Magnum Photos, and was Editorial Director at British Journal of Photography. He has worked as an associate lecturer and external expert for universities including the Royal College of Art in The Hague, the École cantonale d’art de Lausanne, University of the Creative Arts and University of Salford. He runs workshops on photography, and works with individual photographers as a consultant.
